Title-24 Re-roof Cool Roof forms

Starting January 1, 2010 residential alterations will require a completed CF-1R-ALT (Certificate of Compliance) when submitting to plancheck and then later at final inspection a completed CF-6R-ENV-01 (Certificate of Installation) will need to be submitted to the building inspector and provided to the owner.

.

Both of these forms address changes to the roofing but also include other alterations beyond the roofing such as changes to the building insulation, windows, doors, HVAC and the water heater.  This means that the roofing contractor submitting for a permit will need to complete a four page form with most of the fields left blank because they do not apply.

.

We recently received a great set of CF-1R-ALT and CF-1R-ENV-01 forms from Tom Garcia at the City of Fairfield, Ca. that he developed specifically for re-roofs.  These forms only address alterations to the roofing which results in a one page form.  Mr. Garcia informs us that he had forwarded these alternative forms to the California Energy Commission and the staff felt they were acceptable alternatives to the forms in the Residential Manual.

.

We have reviewed them and they contain all the necessary information pertaining to alterations to the roofing and all the Cool Roof details, options and exemptions in the same format as the standard forms.   We’ve converted these forms into pdf format and inserted form fields so you can easily fill it out on your computer and then print or e-mail the forms.

.

We’re posting these forms on our website for download.  If you are a building official please review these forms and we’d like to hear what you think.  Feel free to post a comment in the box below
